Shower curtains can easily change the entire look of your entire bathroom. Depending on the look you’re after, you’re sure to be able to find a pattern or design of shower curtain for your decorating needs. There are multiple choices of style to choose from which include basic and simple all the way to the most elegant to match your bathroom-remodeling plan. With a plethora of materials and colors to choose from you’ll certainly have no problem finding a match to you bathrooms furniture.
Here’s how to select shower curtains.
You’re choices are massive with prints available from both modern all the way back to the more traditional styles that people often choose. First you’ll choose your fabric, and then you’ll go on to select the style of rod and hooks that will completely establish the entire look of the bathroom.
Usually waterproof surfaces are used when creating shower curtains. Most popular is probably nylon, but you can also get vinyl or even PVC coated materials. Of course waterproof is essential in the shower, so these types of definitely the best to choose from. If you do happen to find a curtain that you really like, and it isn’t waterproof then you can always buy a vinyl liner that will protect from the water. This gives you both a great look and water protection.
Some people have trouble finding the perfect shower curtain so they will make their own to suit their needs. This is simple if you can sew even a little bit. Just hop on overt to your local fabric store and you’ll find a wide array of materials. Don’t forget about the liner, so you don’t have to go crazy finding waterproof material.
Your biggest problem in the bathroom is going to be mold. This is because mold loves an environment that is both damp and warm, so your shower is the perfect match. This mold can be harmful and can bring on both allergies and even asthma symptoms. As well as mold you’ll want to be careful of harmful bacteria that can thrive on your curtain. Your best bet for preventing illness is to simply keep the curtain clean.
You can find cleaning solutions that are meant to kill the mold in the shower. You usually cannot wash the materials that make up shower curtains in the washer machine, so you’ll likely have to do this by hand. If this is the case with your shower curtain then just use a bit of bleach and hot water to kill mold and bacteria. Actually, applying lemon juice helps as well. You just have to squeeze on the lemon juice and set the curtain with the lemon juice in the sun, which together will help kill the bacteria.
Now just try your best to prevent the mold and bacteria from coming back. One way to achieve this is by ensuring that your bathroom is ventilated well, either opening a window or using a vent when you take a shower. Also, if you’ve just washed your curtain, soaking it in a bath of salt water before drying it will help prevent any future mold buildup.

Remodeling bathroom in trailer?
What’s avalable for wall covering, I don’t want to use wall paper or wood panel due to the humidity, & moisture. How about plastic panels or similar something that’s easy to install & clean. Any good suggestions out there??? No tile either
Seriously, what’s the point?

With all due respect I happen to currently live in a mobile and have remodeled the entire inside. With Not much respect at all to some who answered, some of us, perhaps even those who answered this way, CANNOT afford the outrageous, over priced HOMES on the market today. If I had a half million dollars I wouldn’t flush it into a mansion bathroom anyway.
Then, and hopefully with no offense to some others, since you state no tile, I’d wonder why you want something that LOOKS like tile but isn’t???
I remodeled a bathroom in Montana about 4 years ago and did the entire thing in 1/8th plastic sheet 4 x 8 when purchased. I used a decent contracting adhesive, added vinyl molding top and bottom and the customer was pleased. The Vinyl sheet was easy to cut, and drill through for shower fixtures and the shower corners were caulked with white silcone, then vinyl molding was added to finish.

I advise against the coated masonite and/or melamine coated sheeting, because if it scratches it leaves a scar and needs patching.

Your best bet is to get milk house board. (the same stuff you usually find in public restrooms) Easy to clean and very inexpensive. You can find this kind of stuff at Mendards or Home Depot, and most local lumber yards.

I concur with Steven W.’s suggestions and sentiments. I would add however, that since you’re aware that your bathroom is a source of high humidity, be sure your exhaust fan is functioning. Because bathrooms are generally located one room down from the furnace, they get allot of air pressure, which in turn, forces the moisture into the wall and ceiling framing when the door is closed. Although the tiny exhaust fan isn’t near as powerful as your furnace blower, if you run it for several minutes after you’re done showering, it’ll get rid of most of the moisture that was created.

Bathrooms, some as tiny as closets may only be of value because of its utility and may appear futile to the owner to consider designing it.
Color is a key factor and the use of colors can alter the mood of any room even make it look bigger; The bathroom is no different. One good idea suggests that bathroom be painted in light, cooler colors as bathroom is a wet room and water is the predominant element.
Use watery elements across the bathroom like clouds, or pattern of waves across the tiles and the ceiling. The light colors used in the bathroom design besides lending the cool feel can also make the room appear bigger. When using wallpapers in the bathroom, consider using patterns in shades of blue or green with patterns.
Another remodeling idea is changing the lighting, as it accentuates objects in the room.
For bathrooms it is advisable to have overhead or ceiling ambience lights which could optionally be fitted with dimness regulator. Also add spot or task lights on the mirror. Install bathroom mirrors opposite each other as it can do wonders to your bathroom. Combined with the right lighting, this arrangement can make a small bathroom appear spacious. Choose bathroom cabinets, bathroom vanities and bathroom countertops with shiny, reflective surfaces; Install a glass shower enclosure during the remodeling process or even install a full-length mirror inside or right outside your shower.
